As expected, DJI just announced the DJI Spark at it’s latest press event in Grand Central Station, New York, earlier today.
Rumours of the new quadcopter have already been flying around for months, as have leaked pictures. So today’s announcement didn’t really surprise anybody.
That said, the DJI Spark is as cool as we hoped and even has some interesting new fetaures. And, in a surprising move for DJI, it comes in several colors.
What is the DJI Spark?

The Spark is DJI’s latest and greatest (or should we say smallest?) addition to it’s collection.
This new drone is a super small quadcopter that seems like a lot of fun to fly. How small? Well, it makes the DJI Mavic Pro looks like a giant in comparison! Really, it’s that small!
Sure, the DJI Mavic Pro‘s folding legs make it less wide during transport. But in all other ways, the DJI Spark is the smallest consumer drone DJI has on the market right now. At 13cm (5.1 inch) x 15cm (5.9 inch) it’s smaller than a standard paperback book. And if we just look at the body, that’s about the size of a soda can. Like we said, tiny!
And in some regards small is a great thing. It takes up less room when you store it and you don’t need a huge backpack or case to carry it around.
So what makes it this great?
